How To Become A Mentor

The She Leads Program is seeking passionate, purpose-driven women leaders to serve as mentors for our next generation of changemakers. As a mentor, you will play a vital role in helping a young women bring her community service initiative to life while developing her confidence, skills, and future career path.

Mentors support mentees in their personal and professional growth and development while helping them navigate key areas including goal setting, time-management, confidence building and stress management. At the end of the program term, program participants join the Mentor and network of supporters to continue their connection.

Mentees and mentors commit to regular meetings and touch points.

Mentor Requirements:

Participants are screened, and carefully matched based on career experience and aspirations, shared interests and  personality.

  • Minimum Age: 25 years or older
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Commitment: Willing to commit to a 3-6-month mentorship period
  • Availability: Able to meet with mentee biweekly (virtually or in-person) and provide consistent communication and support
  • Background Check: Must consent to a background check
  • Values Alignment: Passion for youth development, community building, and empowering young women
  • Leadership Skills: Strong communication, accountability, and goal-setting abilities
  • Supportive Spirit: Willing to guide, encourage, and hold space for a young woman’s ideas and growth
  • Participation: Attend mentor orientation and scheduled program check-ins
